Job Description:


NVIDIA is looking for a highly motivated Software Safety Verification and Validation Lead to join its dynamic and fast-paced Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization. In this role, you will plan and lead the autonomous vehicle software safety verification and validation (V&V) test effort; and coordinate activities across functional teams to get the Autonomous Drive System (ADS) software tested per the automotive safety standard (ISO 26262). You will drive this effort through effective teamwork and communication across organizations, applying your experience in software V&V.

What you'll be doing:


  • Build a test strategy and plan to demonstrate the effectiveness of the safety concept for the ADS software


  • Work closely with V&V infrastructure team on overall product test strategy to satisfy ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 and demonstrate safety of autonomous vehicles

  • Lead integration of safety system software test cases and scenarios with test environment and build a comprehensive test suite

  • Plan and coordinate safety software system integration, V&V activities, including reviewing and managing work products and bug tracking

  • Coordinate V&V safety case collateral review and help develop argumentation for safety case

  • Perform review of nominal and safety requirements to ensure they are comprehensive and testable

  • Report progress to plan and provide regular updates to overall NVIDIA safety plan; manage safety V&V project risk and mitigate as necessary

  • Facilitate collaboration and effective communication across functions, including coordination of safety related V&V meetings, and capturing and tracking action items

What we need to see:


  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant software development experience


  • 5+ years of SW system V&V experience on complex programs with 2+ years in a lead capacity

  • Significant experience with SW unit and integration testing

  • Strong background in software build and test infrastructure, and software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems (Perforce, Git)

  • Familiarity or experience in automotive software development and ISO 26262

  • Strong skills in multi-tasking, influencing, communication, presenting, consensus building and multi-functional team building

  • Enthusiastic, responsive and keen on process improvement

  • Demonstrable ability to think creatively to resolve technical issues and resource conflicts

Ways to stand out from the crowd:


  • Able to think strategically and tactically and to build consensus to make programs successful


  • Experience with leading V&V testing of safety critical software, applying safety standards and metrics (ASIL, MISRA, AUTOSAR, etc.)

  • Experience with software fault injection testing is a big plus

  • Safety analysis experience, such as FMEA, FTA, ETA, HAZOP, DFA/coexistence analysis/freedom from interference, etc.

  • Experience with ADAS system or autonomous vehicle system development is a huge plus
