Job Description:

The Manager, Quality Engineering is a key contributor responsible for performing quality management practices for the Quality Engineering team.  The QE Manager will drive and coordinate project demand for team resources and work requests.  They will also analyze and improve operational and organizational processes for productivity and efficiency.


Duties include: project delivery and coordination, driving and owning the QE demand and intake process, manage on/off shore consultants, supporting our iterative Agile process and procedures, working with automation tools and frameworks, and, supporting automation strategies and techniques.  We are looking for someone who is outcome focused, loves challenges, can work collaboratively and who exemplifies the virtues of our talent model: Humble, Hungry and Smart.



  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of QE operational standards and procedures.

  • Consults with other teams to drive QE quality controls and best practices.

  • Manages QE project delivery activities across multiple functional teams.

  • Coordinates internal (and external) QE activities for various projects and initiatives.

  • Supervises, guides and provides technical support for the QE staff.

  • Work collaboratively within the team to identify opportunities to optimize productivity.

  • Provide oversight and management for test automation infrastructure.

  • Partner with Agile Strategies and Product Development teams to support, define and implement testing and test automation strategies and techniques.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of QE methodologies and concepts.  

  • Leads others to solve complex problems and identify innovative solutions.

  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

  • Manages process improvement efforts as required.

  • Defines metrics, determines appropriate data to be measured and the data collection process.

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of Managing experience (Quality Assurance and/or Quality Engineering).

  • 3+ years of Agile experience.

  • Project Delivery coordination experience.

  • Strong knowledge of QE best practices including disciplines, principles, and methodologies.

  • Demonstrates a craving for continuous improvement, through understanding of new technology innovation and its application.

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

  • Travel to Prudential sites up to 10%. 

  • Experience with Quality Engineering principles, methodologies, frameworks, tools – a plus

  • 3+ years of test automation experience – (Selenium / Jenkins) – a plus

  • Experience with AWS cloud technology, DevOps and Jenkins – a plus

  • Experience with different development and testing techniques including Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development – a plus
