We are looking for a motivated Intern who is working on a degree in a Health & Safety-related field to join our company. What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
Duties and responsibilities vary based on level of experience and project expectations. An intern will generally shadow experienced professionals and participate as a member of a team by contributing to actual projects. Interns are able to apply what they have learned “from the classroom” via experience based-learning. Potential projects our intern may support, depending on internal needs and the intern’s interest and skills include:
· Assisting with the creation of Job Safety Analysis and site-specific Health & Safety Plans
· Participating in incident / good catch evaluations
· Performing noise and/or air monitoring
· Participating in the Health & Safety Committee
· Creating company-wide safety-related communications
· Assisting with health and safety training
· Assisting with regulatory and in-house safety compliance
This Internship Position will be based in our Portland, ME Office.
What do you need to succeed?
The ideal candidate will be a second or third-year student studying for a B.S. in a Health & Safety-related field with strong writing and communication skills. Familiarity with OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910, etc.) is required. You will need to attach a professional cover letter, as well as your resume. Your resume should include your GPA and a sample of completed, relevant college courses. In addition, you must have a high school diploma to qualify for an internship.
