Georgia Pacific is seeking a talented Quality Manager for its Gypsum facility in Quanah, TX.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Implementing quality programs. Providing support and direction in the implementation and administration of quality systems. Analyzing the effectiveness of the quality system and coordinates quality related issues with customers, suppliers, and other functional disciplines.
Creating true product champions who are able to speak with authority and knowledge about their product group(s) and form part of a world class team, who are able to stand with customers and discuss the performance, application and general quality of their product.
Formulating and maintaining quality objectives complementary to company policies and goals.
Playing an active role on quality management teams within organization.
Designing and implementing quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
Leading plant quality initiatives; influencing members of peer group and non-direct reporting functions.
Investigating and adjusting to customer complaints regarding quality. Providing technical assistance to customers with respect to quality issues and customer satisfaction opportunities. Communicating professionally with customers.
Performing quality engineering reviews of documentation for conformance with stated requirements, including quality manuals and plant quality records.
Performing internal audits/surveys and facilitating action plans, where applicable, to assure conformance to specific quality/customer requirements and for non-conformances/customer complaints and claims.
Maintaining a working knowledge of UL, FM, ASTM and industry quality codes and standards.
Managing statistical analysis that identifies anomalies, recurring problems, outliers and other forms to statistical process control of the operations within the plant.
Driving Continuous Process Improvement activities throughout the organization using statistical techniques and lean methodology, and develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
What You Will Need:
A High School diploma (or equivalent)
A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing, developing, or implementing quality processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment
A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
Experience with problem-solving and root-cause analysis
Basic financial and accounting knowledge
Experience with Statistical Process Controls (SPC)
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, and other PC-based tracking and reporting applications
What Will Put You Ahead?
A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
Five (5) or more years of management experience in an industrial environment, developing manufacturing and quality processes
Quality certification, such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or CQA (Certified Quality Auditor)
