We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Planning and Scheduling Team Leader located in Port Neches, TX. The Site Planning and Scheduling Team Lead plays a key role in the organization by ensuring routine maintenance work and maintenance outages are performed at the lowest optimal cost and with minimal downtime by leading and driving best practices in the maintenance Work Management Process (WMP) including all supporting processes and systems. This role provides direction to a team of planners and schedulers and provides functional direction to all roles site wide interacting with the WMP. The goal of the WMP is to drive work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and materials, and equipment access. This role reports to the Senior Manager - Site Maintenance.

What will be expected from you?
  • Lead/Oversee the coordination of site planning activities and reporting metrics.
  • Lead/Oversee the coordination of site scheduling activities and reporting metrics.
  • Manage the development of departmental resources
  • Assist in instruction to Planning and Scheduling Dept. other departments concerning SAP activities, maintenance workflows, roles and responsibilities and driving/leading WMP improvement programs
  • Maximize wrench time of all maintenance and construction resources performing routine maintenance site wide by leading and driving best practices throughout the maintenance work management process (WMP) including all supporting processes and systems.
  • Drive and lead site-wide consistency and standardization in the WMP.
  • Ensure weekly schedules are developed that include all area and pool crafts, and that manpower is scheduled and leveled across operating areas and operating units. Ensure all weekly maintenance and construction work activities are planned, scheduled and coordinated to maximize efficiency both short term and long term (i.e. a 3 week look-ahead)
  • Provide direction, guidance and training to a team of planners and schedulers responsible for planning and scheduling jobs for both routine Maintenance and Maintenance outages.
  • Provide functional direction and training to all roles interacting with the WMP.
  • Perform assessments of practices in all steps of the WMP vs. 1) Best practice and 2) The WMP procedure to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Prioritize improvements based on benefit, develop an evergreen documented 1-year plan, track metrics and progress, and lead the improvement.
  • Lead a site wide team focused on WMP improvement.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for all WMP steps and WMP roles. Post KPIs on a monthly dashboard, establish stretch goals and drive improvement. Report metrics monthly.
  • Perform skills, knowledge and abilities assessments on Planners and Schedulers. Develop and support improvement plans to address gaps.
  • Assist in all step of the on-boarding process for new hire planners and schedulers to set them up for success.
  • Ensure that each planning entity is creating and utilizing reusable job plans for routine and reoccurring work activities.
  • Ensure all aspects of the Prometheus scheduling system is utilized and supporting processes are utilized for maximum efficiency.
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Assist other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participate in complete required training programs on time.
  • Support other improvement initiatives associated with planning and scheduling assigned by the supervisor.

    What are we looking for in the ideal Candidate?
  • Technical or Engineering Bachelor Degree and five plus years of Planning and Scheduling of maintenance and construction resources OR Technical or Engineering Associate Degree and seven plus years of experience OR a High School Diploma and 9 plus years of experience.
  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
  • Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs
  • Moderate to excellent technical writing skills is essential.
  • Ability to multitask concurrent technical efforts and set priorities with a minimum of guidance required.
  • Ability to work with all levels of Supervision, technical and wage roll employees within the organization.
  • Ability to make presentations to company management in a manner in which work activities can be understood as necessary
  • Completion certificate in SAP training
  • Must have a positive attitude and like to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Lead team problem solving sessions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Continuous improvement oriented - proactively support innovation and change.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to call-outs on a non-routine basis.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, line management, hourly personnel and contractors.
