We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the team! Experienced Seniors and Analysts that are looking to advance to the next level are encouraged to apply! 

The position provides analytical and some fiduciary support to our North American Consumer Products Division  and is located at our Port Hudson Paper and Pulp Mill in Zachary, LA. Located in the East Baton Rouge Parish, Zachary has historically been viewed as a rural community with a high quality of life.  You will be a member of a strong financial team and will report directly to the Mill Controller. In addition to completing facility cost analysis, product benchmarking analysis, and identification of value creation opportunities.  This role will also provide guidance and coaching to other team members.

The Analysis role creates value by supplying expertise in economic and critical thinking in order to make sound business decisions.  Success here requires the application of financial models, ability to perform valuation analysis, marginal analyses, identification of opportunities, and determining key variables that help to drive the business performance.  The ideal candidate must have the ability to work autonomously or in team settings and possess a strong analytical background.  Our work environment is fast paced with a focus on innovation and change therefore the ideal candidate will need to possess a high degree of creativity and resourcefulness.  This role will also work collaboratively with its peers to identify and capture value across North American Consumer Products.


  • Promote an environment of effective partnering with operations and business leaders to maximize value creation and enhance decision making

  • Analyzing/Auditing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual

  • Month end closing and reporting, general ledger account reconciliation and variance analysis

  • Collecting, validating, and analyzing product cost data such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor

  • Assist in maintaining a centralized cost accounting system that includes bills of materials and cost structures within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool

  • Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to creating and implementing action plan 

  • Think like the decision maker, be inquisitive, and push boundaries while demonstrating humility

What You Will Need:


Requirements and Qualifications needed:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business; earned with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Finance, Accounting, Strategy, or Cost Analysis role 

  • Demonstrated understanding of key principles of Cost Accounting, GAAP and Internal Financial Control

  • Prior experience performing financial analysis and relaying insights and recommendations to business leaders

  • Experience with overall Accounting functions (General Ledger, Account Reconciliations, Variance analysis, Month-End close)

  • Experience with integrated financial systems, complex accounting systems, database structure

  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency; including creation/editing, charts, pivot tables, lookups, formula creation and working with macros

Preferred Qualifications

  • Finance/Operations Accounting experience in a manufacturing organization

  • Cost accounting, Product costing, KPI/Metric development/tracking experience

  • Marginal and incremental cost/profit analysis experience

  • Experience with integrated financial systems with a costing component (SAP, SPECS)

  • Experience with business analysis and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, VBA)
