New England Biolabs (NEB) is seeking a Systems Administrator. The person in this role will be responsible for developing and supporting automation tools associated with desktop and server systems software packaging. The System Administrator will use existing and emerging technologies to improve the overall health, stability, effectiveness, security and reliability of the company’s computer systems.
Ensure that desktop hardware and software images are kept current for both Mac and Microsoft systems, and are maintained with the latest drivers and software requirements
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs
Provide engineering level support for desktop software deployment automation tools and work closely with the Help Desk to resolve issues
Proactively communicate the status, plan of action and resolution of issues associated with supported technologies
Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall desktop and server health, effectiveness and efficiency
Partner with internal customers to assist in delivering new end user facing solutions
Provide Tier III systems support for help desk related service tickets, investigate and trouble shoot issues as assigned
Work on assigned IT projects from planning stages to completion
Administer Windows desktop and server patching, antivirus, desktop imaging, packaging and deployment
Administer Mac systems imaging application packaging and deployment
Administer and support Active Directory, Mobile Device Management, MS RemoteApp, PC Backup Solution and Print Servers
Provide after-hours on-call support, as needed
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
6+ years demonstrated experience in supporting infrastructure systems technologies.
Microsoft Windows Server, 2012, 2016 and 2019
Microsoft Windows desktop and Mac OS
Antivirus administration tools
Microsoft cloud-based applications
Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager for Windows updates deployment
Jamf Pro for Apple systems, deployment, security, device and application management
Microsoft Intune for MDM
Strong verbal, written, analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection tools
Experience with implementing DKIM & DEMARC
Experience with Ziften, Bitdefender or SentinelOne
Microsoft and Security Certifications
