IDC is seeking a highly motivated product manager who will partner with research, sales and marketing to develop revenue in key product areas. This role will focus on creating well-defined segmentation, targeting and positioning strategies to ensure marketing and sales readiness, as well as tracked revenue growth. This highly collaborative product management position, which also requires strong process and project management, will help bridge product expectations to successful sales outcomes.
Product Definition: Manage the definition of new customer-focused research product portfolios in partnership with research
Positioning/Messaging: Provide inputs and help develop approach to position product/portfolio differentiation to key customer segments
Business Development: Work closely with sales to target and develop specific accounts and segments
Sales and Marketing Readiness: Use business development knowledge and process to align and prepare sales to effectively sell research product portfolios, and marketing to target new customers
In this capacity, the Product Manager role requires working closely with all aspects of the business including research analysts, sales, marketing, IT, publishing, custom solutions as well as senior management while applying exceptional process and project management skills.
4+ years in product management, product marketing and/or market development roles with preferred experience in a consulting, advisory or services organization
Business development experience and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with sales will be key to success in this position
Understanding of and experience with segmentation strategies that inform targeted product development, marketing programs and sales strategies
Experience developing value-based messaging and positioning
Proven abilities in teamwork, relationship building, collaboration and project management
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; MBA a plus
Approximately 5% travel
