The individual will provide high-level advice to customers on selecting, sourcing, implementing, operating, and supporting the complex, on- and off-premise technology and service options available to enterprise business leaders and IT executives.

The candidate will have already demonstrated groundbreaking thought leadership within ITSM, expertise in adjacent IT governance topics, and intellectual curiosity across cloud and other relevant IT disciplines.
The Research VP will be responsible for developing an annual research agenda and delivering high-quality studies on a predetermined schedule. This research will utilize IDC's existing research architecture and incorporate IDC's proprietary DecisionScape decision-making frameworks for IT executives and technology professionals. This individual will also be charged with developing meaningful assessment tools and creating new approaches for evaluating IT Operations success.

This research leader will cultivate research and consulting relationships with clients, including up-selling, cross-selling, and consulting engagements. In addition, they will serve as a subject matter expert with the sales force for lead development and proposal development for all opportunities related to IT Operational Excellence.
