Job Summary:

Super Micro Inc. is seeking to hire for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Power Solutions group who can assist in power supply development, manufacturing process enhancement, and perform quality control. This individual will be required to work cross-department and assist R&D engineers, quality engineers, production engineers, product managers, and contract manufacturers in product development tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job included but not limited to:


  • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and deliver scalable manufacturing solutions for PCBAs.

  • Support NPI builds from concept to product launch, including build preparation, build reports and issue resolution at contract manufacturers.

  • Support released products until EOL, overseeing process yield control, and cost reduction activities.

  • Identify and drive DFM and process improvements that reduce process cycle times and cost, while maintaining exceptional quality.

  • Develop new processes to achieve production process enhancement, and automation.

  • Work with contract manufacturer to improve overall production quality and perform inspection based on IPC-A-610 requirements. 

  • Provide PCBA technical guidance to cross-functional team.

  • Provide technical guidance for conformal coating process to cross-functional team.

  • Traveling will be required to visit production facility, job site, and client office as needed.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in SMT process engineering (PCBA), production process, and conformal coating application preferred

  • Experience with repeatable, and reproducible process parameters and process controls, and with DFM processes, failure analysis, reporting, and tools.

  • Expertise in PCB laminate, stack up and fabrication process, manufacturing processes in a production environment, conformal coating process, and production automation.

  • Experience in conformal coating application, process design and manufacturing essential duties.

  • Knowledge of rework processes, and component footprint design rules.

  • Familiar with industry standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC-9592, J-STD, etc. 

  • Experience with monitoring and launching new products/technologies/processes at CMs or ODMs.

  • Strong attention to detail, including accuracy and thoroughness

  • Solid communications skills both verbal and written

  • Electronics, digital and components knowledge background

  • Able to work independently and be a good team player
