SUMMARY

The position performs a variety of warehouse duties to ensure formal accountability in the receiving, inspecting, storing, pulling orders, loading and processing all incoming and/or outgoing shipments. The position will conduct quality assurance inspection and prepares items for processing utilizing a computer terminal to store, track and prepare material documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:


  • Perform full range of warehousing activities to ensure formal accountability in the receiving, inspecting, storing, pulling orders, loading and processing all incoming and/or outgoing shipments.
  • Perform a variety of warehouse duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored material, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
  • Identify, examine, classify, accept and dispose of a wide variety of materials and property.
  • Determine physical condition and serviceability of material and property in accordance with established guidance and publications.
  • Categorize and/or size for delivered material according to requisition number.
  • Adhere to established procedures for processing damaged material.
  • Receive equipment, perform an inventory, verify serial numbered items and/or USA numbers for vehicles/trailers and enter information into computerized database.
  • Enter shipping data into current computer database as required.
  • Perform inventory of stock locations and then enter into computer database as required.
  • Perform quality assurance inspection and prepares items for processing utilizing a computer terminal to store, track and prepare material documentation.
  • Maintain and file copies of all unit paperwork and unit documents, including DD 1348-6, Supply Request and DA 3161- Request for Issue or Turn-In.
  • Contractor shall use a forklift up to 15,000 lbs and other relevant material handling equipment in performance of warehousing and material handling tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Performs other job related duties as required

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Certification/Training for use of a forklift(s) and other vehicles that will be required to carry out the task of this position. Twelve months work experience in warehousing procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Communication skills, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the following software programs; Microsoft Word, Excel, Standard Army Retail Supply System and operating systems used for database entries or is willing to learn.
  • Physical ability and agility to lift up to 40 lbs independently.
  • Must be able to read and follow Army Regulations (ARs).
  • Must be able to read and follow Department of the Army Pamphlets (DA PAMS).
  • Must be able to read and follow Internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Must be able to read and follow Local Supply Bulletins and Policy Memorandums.
  • Must be able to read and follow Systems User Handbooks.
  • Possess current valid state driver license to operate up to 10,000 lbs forklift and GSA vehicles.
  • Will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
