Amgen is seeking a Specialist IS Analyst, Data Product Owner (DPO), who will work on our Global Commercial Data & Analytics (GCDNA) team. The DPO will report to the Senior Manager- Data and Analytics and will work out of our Amgen Headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. Data engineering & analytics is a rapidly evolving space with a dynamic emerging technologies landscape. This position will play the role of a Functional Data Engineer, with experience working in product teams as a Product Owner. This role will, be responsible for maintaining the CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Pricing Data Products and Analytics.
This role provides an opportunity to work in a Product model delivering new capabilities via ongoing DevOps and quarterly MVPs. He/she will have an opportunity to work hands-on in the latest BI technologies and platforms (Big Data, AWS, Data Bricks, AirFlow, Tableau, etc) to deliver Commercial Analytics to Stakeholders across 4 Regions (US, Europe, JAPAC and Intercontinental).
Play the role of Product Owner for one or more of the Global Data Products: CRM, Sales, Pricing.
Ensure the Global Commercial Data & Analytics Product Backlog is groomed and contains complete User Stories to be discussed during Sprint Planning ceremonies.
Work with different regions to deliver new capabilities via 3-Week Sprints in DevOps and incremental MVPs (Minimum Viable Products).
Troubleshoot data issues reported by regions and identifies solutions
Maintain data quality rules to ensure the quality of the data is constantly improving
Partner with leadership teams in US and RoW (Rest of the World) Commercial Operations to develop and implement effective analytic strategies.
Work closely in a client facing role with Software Engineers, data scientist and analysts to provide data-driven solutions.
Responsible for defining Release Scope and communicating it to Regional leads.
Be a thought-leader from technical and functional perspective to evolve the Data Products and collaborate with Regional Pods and Platform teams to delivery new capabilities.
Develop basic understanding of core business problems and identify opportunities to use advanced analytics
Be open and flexible in supporting stakeholders from other regions (especially Europe & JAPAC).
Doctorate degree in Information Systems experience
Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
High School Diploma /GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
Experience with Cloud technologies (preferably AWS) and programming languages like Python
Experience with Tableau
Passion for innovation, data and "can do" attitude
Experience in Agile Product Management Life Cycle and Agile Project Management tool(s)
Experience or knowledge of Data Analytical technologies like Databricks, AWS or Tableau is a plus
