POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT functions in the role of expert clinician, educator, and consultant. In collaboration with the medical staff and nursing staff, the PA monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care and patient outcomes. Incorporated within each of these role functions, the PA is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader, and cost-effective practitioner.
The PA will work collaboratively with other health care professionals to provide staff, patient, family and other healthcare providers with information, education, guidance, and assistance toward improving knowledge of disease/injury process and clinical interventions. The PA may be involved with clinical research being conducted within the facility.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Texas licensed as a Physician Assistant
* BLS (AHA) certification
* Bachelor/Master's degree in field appropriate to area of practice - PA
* Minimum 2 years previous experience as PA.
* 1 year of Bariatric experience required.
