Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Shipper/ Receiver pulls and packs orders accurately in preparation for prompt shipment according to customer specifications. This role verifies and enters receipt of incoming shipments.


  • Obtains merchandise from warehouse shelves to fill orders for customer orders, carefully verifying identifying information and quantities
  • Places items in containers and wraps so that the material is protected during shipment
  • Compares identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order and counts items for verification, and indicates any discrepancies
  • Enters the purchase order by computer, which generates a shipping ticket
  • Indicates sales order number on the shipping ticket and attaches it to the box or sack
  • Packages orders for out-of-town shipments
  • Enters other incoming shipments in the computer, as physical counts have already been verified
  • Assists in warehouse maintenance
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General knowledge of warehouse procedure
  • Ability to operate computers
  • Fork Lift Certification preferred



PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED: Requires the use of safety shoes and protective clothing such as a uniform. Other, more specialized protective gear may be required occasionally.
