Our Wheatfield, IN Gypsum facility is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician. The E&I Technician helps ensure the successful facility operation by resolving electrical issues, identifying quality concerns, and understanding the production threshold of the equipment. Starting pay rate at $35.00/hour!


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial equipment following electrical code, manuals, and schematics

  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic equipment

  • Installing new electrical equipment, update drawings, job plans, and bills of materials

  • Supporting other maintenance activities including millwright tasks as required

  • Performing tasks list to include, but not limited to, testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating, and control instruments / equipment

  • Creating and modifying safety operation procedures (SOP) for electrical and control equipment

  • Maintaining personal tools as well as electrical tools for maintenance shop

  • Applying wire and cable termination best practices and implement task for maintenance technicians

  • Reading schematics and manuals to understand installation procedure

  • Learning and implementing electrical and control new technologies to support operation safety and quality 


What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing various electrical and electronic equipment ranging in voltages from 24 VDC to 15 KV 

  • Experience in diagnosing, repairing, or replacing various types of drives including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Siemens, Yasakawa, Reliance, and GE

  • Experience repairing, troubleshooting, and programming various PLCs, HMIs, and operator interfaces

  • Ability to test, calibrate and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic devices and equipment

  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment 

  • Knowledge in termination power, control, and instrumentation wire and cable best practice

  • Ability to set up, pull wire, and cable

  • Technical degree from an accredited institution in the electrical field OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Five (5) years’ experience in electrical, controls, and instrumentation installation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment

  • Willing and able to work in a sometimes hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment

  • Willing and able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and holidays

  • Willing and able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for an extended period (lifting, walking, climbing, stooping)

  • Willing and able to work in high and/or confined spaces

  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
