Position Summary

Oldcastle APG’s National Independent Sales business is searching for an aggressive, customer focused, and results-oriented Category Manager to support the growth and development of APG’s full suite of building materials products, with a focus on dry mixes, across a diverse and competitive customer landscape.  The Category Manager will support the execution of building materials sales and service across APG’s Pro, lumberyard, co-op, and Independent dealer customer channels.  The Category Manager will also be expected to partner with local company sales teams to improve customer sales and service opportunities.  This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Sakrete.

Job Description Summary

  • Effectively manage the details of all customer specific programs

  • React and respond with a sense of urgency and a customer-first mentality

  • Frequent collaboration with the field sales team

  • Timely and proper completition of all administrative tasks

  • Manage the execution of all tradeshow events and activities

  • Quickly navigate APG to help source customer needs

Job Requirements

  • High degree of business acumen

  • Experience with the building material or retail channels

  • Proven success selling or servicing co-ops, distribution, independents, and/or retail customers

  • Strong ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and timely both written and verbal

  • Willingness to invest in personal development, growth, reflection, and awareness

  • Ability to travel 20% inside North America

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, e-Commerce, and digital tools

  • Business degree preferred
