Are you certifiable? We’re seeking an electromagnetic compliance (EMC) engineering technician to create integrated avionics systems to simulate aircraft installation to perform EMC testing and monitor and document system performance. We are looking for a full-time EMC Engineering Technician at our headquarters in greater Kansas City. In this role you will be responsible for Creating CAD drawings of harnesses and writing technical reports, including documentation of the test setup, block diagrams, and test setup schematics to fully document test results and analysis using Microsoft Word and Excel. Other essential functions include:
Perform EMC (RF Susceptibility, Emissions and Lightning) testing and monitor system performance
Work with high RF levels during HIRF testing and high voltage/current levels during lightning testing.
Use common lab test equipment in testing and troubleshooting test failures, including equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, and logic analyzers
Familiarity with RF test equipment.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Good analytical and organizational skills
Maintain project files and notebooks in an organized manner.
Be flexible to work different projects, including non EMC projects
Qualified candidates possess an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering Technology from a technical/vocational institution or a four-year college or university, or a minimum of three years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:
Minimum of 2 years’ development technician experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
Familiarity with DO160 test methods, especially Section 20 and 22 test methods and Aircraft systems knowledge is highly preferred!
