The International Consulting Analyst supports the lead international benefits consultant in managing thework withmultinational clients on a range of international benefits issues and projects, including but not limited to, Retirement, Health and Benefits and Mergers and Acquisitions. The analyst will work with local Mercer benefits specialists around the world to research, analyze, and evaluate the employee benefit plans and retirement programs for the non-US subsidiaries of multinational clients. This may involve developing client strategy, interfacing directly with clients and developing vendor relationships. To fulfill this role, the analyst will:
Coordinate and manage the activity of local brokers, actuaries and consultants around the world in relation to our Global Benefit Management clients (i.e., clients that appoint Mercer as their broker for insured benefit programs globally) and global actuarial appointments.
Compare client information against benchmarks and provide recommendations on potential changes.
Support senior international consultants on a range of other international benefits projects such as retirement accounting coordination, design and funding, competitive benefit analysis, benefits for start-up operations, international pension calculations.
Understand and demonstrate project management and consulting skills such as: managing the quality and timeliness of client deliverables, helping to develop budgets and billing reports, participating in client calls and meetings as appropriate, and assisting with the preparation and delivery of clear and concise client-friendly communications.
Be the day to day contact and liaison for accounting consolidation project;communicate timeline and deliverables; consolidate information for review by more senior consultants; provide list of queries on local actuaries' input for discussion with more senior consultants
Act as a liaison with Mercer consultants around the world to draft responses to client questions on non-US benefit issues.
Provide analysis and support in relation to review and rebidding of expatriate medical insurance policies, and other benefit contracts for globally mobile employees and key local nationals.
Draft technical reports and other communications based on input from local Mercer consultants;liaise with Mercer consultants globally in order to provide initial draft responses to client questions on non-US retirement and benefit issues
Assist the project manager for significant multi-country benefits, retirement and M&A projects
Develop actuarial calculations and other analyses as necessary for review by more senior consultants
