Position Expectations

Analyst Safety Data

Position Summary

The Analyst supports JetBlue Airways Office of Safety by recording, managing, and analyzing event and assessment safety data.

Essential Responsibilities

* Conducts analyses on safety events and audit data

* Support departmental efforts to develop and maintain critical safety metrics across a broad range of safety and compliance domains

* Integrates information from other operating areas

* Works closely with department leadership and team members to identify areas of safety and security hazards in operations

* Provide ongoing monitoring and assessment of safety performance and measure the effectiveness of safety enhancements

* Assist in the development and implementation of technological solutions for the collection, analysis, reporting, and integration of safety, security, and compliance data

* Manages (monitors, updates, maintains, develops) the Safety event management, analysis and distribution system as necessary

* Ensure adherence to all Safety and Security regulations

* Performs ad hoc data requests in a timely manner

* All other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor s Degree in an aviation or related field

* One (1) year coursework or relevant industry experience in statistics or data analysis.

* Familiarity with relational database management and programming concepts

* Proficiency with MS Office applications (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

* Ability to learn and understand new software in detail

* Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)

* Currently in possession of a valid passport or equivalent to travel in and out of the United States

* Working knowledge of regulations governing commercial aviation safety, security, environmental and employee health and safety

* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

* Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* One (1) year working experience at an airline, airport, or other aviation-related organization

* Proficiency with Aviation Quality Database (AQD)

* Proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL) programming

* Experience with content management systems such as SharePoint

* Experience with statistical tools such as R programming, SSAS, or SPSS

* Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports or SSRS

* Working knowledge of statistical concepts

* Familiarity with text mining software

* Publishing or article writing experience

* Ability to work effectively with professionals from diverse technical areas

* Possess strong team building interpersonal skills

Crewmember Expectations:

* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

* Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

* Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue s Safety Management System

* Promote JetBlue s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

* Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

* Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

* Uphold JetBlue s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
