Georgia Pacific is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer/Project Lead to join our team! This individual will provide engineering expertise for conceptual studies, feasibility analysis, design, operation and troubleshooting of a new technology that can reclaim the previously unrecyclable commercial waste going to landfills throughout the world. The initial focus will be on our first installation on the West Coast. This position will be a home-based role, with 30% - 70% domestic and international travel.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Demonstrating the virtues and talents consistent with Georgia-Pacific’s Market Based Management (MBM®) and Guiding Principles
Leading technical development project work and advance projects from inception through completion
Participate in laboratory experiments and manufacturing facility trials
Perform preliminary technical and economic feasibility studies for the modification of existing or entirely new system installations.
Provide engineering leadership for development of process design, start-up, optimization, benchmarking and gap closure.
Coordination, review and approval of work done by engineering consultants
Check-out and start-up assistance for new or modified equipment and processes.
Providing outage support
Assist with training of operators and process engineering personnel
Develop and/or maintain corporate design/construction and operating/maintenance standards for Juno® Technology Systems and Equipment.
Leveraging strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with coworkers of various technical levels and business partners with the potential for leadership opportunities
Demonstrating strong oral and written communication skills
What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
Three (3) or more years' experience in operation and maintenance of pulping, bleaching and chemical recovery facilities
Experience with engineering design, operation, maintenance, and/or manufacturer’s technical service representatives
Experience using data storage and process analysis enabler
Willing and able to travel 30% to 70%
Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
What Will Put You Ahead?
Five (5) or more years' experience with supervision responsibility for direct reports
Experience working within a paper mill’s pulp and/or power and recovery areas
Experience working with root cause failure analysis
Mass and Energy balance expertise, Wingems
Willingness to learn AutoCad and 3D Modeling
