Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Building Envelope Manager to join our Building Products Technical Services team. This position is based out of our Decatur Gypsum Technical Center (just outside Atlanta, GA). Georgia Pacific’s R&D, Quality, and Technical Service teams work closely together at the Decatur Gypsum Technical Center a state of the art facility that includes an analytical lab and extensive application-based testing capabilities. If you aspire to utilize your subject matter expertise, experience & technical aptitude, networking ability & business acumen, along with proven interpersonal & relationship building skills, we are interested in learning more about you!

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:



  • Guiding the Business: This person will help our senior leadership team evaluate new opportunities from a building science perspective.




  • Problem Solving: This person will provide innovative data-based solutions to meet our customers’ needs.




  • Innovation: Working hand in hand with the marketing, R&D, and sales teams, this person will be instrumental in innovating for the Dens® family of products and expanding product offerings into adjacent spaces.




  • Transformation: This person possesses the vision and capability to identify new opportunities and will implement new services and tools to enhance the customer experience in technical services.


  • Experimentation: This person will design testing and lead projects to develop new uses for GP products that will grow our business.




  • Education & Training: This person will have primary responsibility for increasing building science knowledge within the organization and being the voice of GP at various industry association events and committees.




 

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

 


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, architecture or science related field OR seven (7) years of field experience in lieu of the degree

  • Five (5) or more years’ commercial construction engineering, design, or building science experience

  • Experience developing and writing technical literature (i.e., white papers, technical bulletins, observation reports, etc.)

  • Willing and able to travel up 25% to 40% of the time

 


 

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

 


  • Master’s degree

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license

  • Experience with modeling software such as WUFI

  • Experience with sketching design details in CAD/BIM/Revit

  • Building enclosure consulting experience
