WE'RE DRIVING TOWARD THE ULTIMATE VICTORY: A WORLD WITHOUT THE FEAR OF CANCER.Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation of linear accelerator and imaging systems, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers needs and assists in and facilitates resolution regardless of who the job responsibility falls under This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking Installs and upgrades. This includes support of a wide range of complex and advanced company products according to technical documentation and company guidelines to ensure that customer s equipment operates properly. Demonstrates equipment operation and specifications according to the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP). Requires no direct supervision. Will facilitate training and mentoring of Installation Representatives to include tracking the training of assigned new hires and auditing performance of installers. May coordinate other expert company resources required to assist in performing installation or upgrade activities. Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only: Position must have full access to VMS client sites to perform the essential functions of this position. Many VMS clients require VMS employees and representatives to meet certain Vendor Credentialing requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites. Unless prohibited by law, position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access, and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of VMS employment in this position. Advise customers in ordering spare parts or on service request such as emergency and contractual services to ensure customers can operate their VMS equipment according to technical and safety guidelines. Advise customers on where to find Customer Technical Bulletins and why they are important. Conduct Acceptance testing, to ensure that all product specifications are met with the highest quality and in a timely manner. Input detailed records of installation and upgrade work performed into company information systems to ensure accurate updated customer installation information is available to other VMS functions. Maintain a high degree of professionalism and safety according to VMS guidelines and customer guidelines in order to perform activities under the safest working conditions. Performs parts inventory and ordering for assigned installation, including replenishing spare parts kit, short shipment and return consigned parts per VMS written processes. Provide feedback on products and documentation to improve installation processes. Report by means of FSR s, time sheets, expense reports, etc. regularly to ensure accurate company statistical data on customer-oriented activities is available. Train, mentor and advise new and less experienced Installation Representatives in all aspects of the job Assist in the development of new installation techniques and the writing of installation documentation. Complete all required installation documentation that pertains to the job being completed and update all requested and/or required data for data tracking purposes. First line support in problem-resolution escalation procedures and provides technical assistance when necessary in a timely manner. Interface with Varian Education Department in Developing Installation Applicable Course Materials. Engages in assigned special projects for installation cost reduction in cycle time and material while maintain highest degree of products quality. Provides technical cross functional training to project management and non-technical personnel. Interface with manufacturing engineers, PSE and NTS on new products release. Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge Expert knowledge of and professional experience with electronic and electro-mechanical engineering, testing equipment used for verification, checkout and calibration of electronic equipment. This includes but is not limited to oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, and torque wrenches Expert knowledge of and professional technical experience with PC based systems Customer focused attitude Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication Fluency in the local language and in English, both written and spoken Other Desired Skills and Knowledge Expert computer usage and debugging skills Expert knowledge of networks and networking techniques Expert understanding of beam delivery and imaging systems Adept with mechanical hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair vacuum systems. Required Certifications and Training Completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only: Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to: o Proof of valid identification (photo, driver s license, SSN) o Criminal background checks o Drug screens o Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus) o Annual TB testing o Healthcare trainings Experience Level with Business Tools Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, reporting databases, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Associate Degree or Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience 6 years of directly related and transferrable experience
