Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of safe forklift operation in a high traffic environment

  • Quality control processes to ensure accurate shipments

  • Flexibility to work any shift and change shifts with little notice

  • Knowledge of computers and other technologies to track orders and shipments

  • Ability to identify potential safety concerns and address immediately to support the organization’s safety focus

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience safely driving and operating a forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Willing and able to work any shift, on-call, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed

  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy environment with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Willing to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment

  • Willing and able to perform physically demanding tasks repetitively for extended periods of time (i.e. lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling) with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Willing to sign a confidentially agreement as a condition of employment

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of forklifts in a high traffic environment

  • Conduct required pre-operating checks on forklift, prior to use

  • Transfer of finished product from warehouse floor to trucks and rail cars

  • Monitor truck drivers to ensure all required safety precautions are followed prior to and during loading

  • Ensure visual quality standards are met through constant monitoring of product from finishing though shipment

  • Ensure order accuracy for all rail and truckload shipments

  • Assist finishing line with finished bundles when additional support is needed

  • Ensuring workplace safety through proper housekeeping in warehouse and other work areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess a current forklift license or be able to attain one within 6 months

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using a forklift to load and unload trailers

  • Experience using a computer for basic record-keeping and documentation functions
