Job Description:

The Regional EHS Coordinator is responsible for the over-site of the safety and environmental programs implementation of EHS Management system for Coating Services facilities in the Detroit area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the local implementation of EHS Management system in assigned facilities.


    o Review plant development / progress with local Safety/Environmental Improvement Plans


    o Develops and presents safety training material


    o Conducts safety risk assessments and performs job hazard analysis


    o Participates in and reviews incident investigations to ensure root cause and proper corrective actions have been identified and implemented


    o Work with plant teams to develop and implement incident prevention and control methods with a focus on hazard elimination and engineering control methods


    o Maintains and improves plant EHS performance by completing EHS inspections/ audits; evaluate and re-design processes and standard work practices; develop remedial measures; assist plant with implementation of changes


    o Monitor plant EHS metric performance and ensure remedial actions are developed



  • Supports the development of SBU procedures and instructions to ensure compliance with relevant environmental and safety regulations and PPG requirements


  • Presents training material necessary for implementation of EHS Management System


  • Assist plant compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations by supporting the Plant Manager and site EHS Leadership Team in enforcing adherence to regulation; forwarding regulation information to plant leaders; advising management on needed action; works with local regulatory agencies as needed


  • Monitor plant usage of Compliance Tracker software to ensure obligations are timely met


  • Tracks plant and Corporate EHS metrics


  • Assists Corporate Environmental Specialist in the completion of required reports as needed

    • Safety/Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering or related science,

    • 5-7 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment

    • Experience with inspections, audits, hazard reviews, and safety analysis


    • Ability to travel to sites in the Detroit region


    • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power point software .
