Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Reporting to the Director of Research and working as a member of the Research and Associate Vice Provost & Executive Director's Office teams, the Research and Grant Coordinator provides operational, research and analytical support to the internal research and grant functional areas. Working closely with the Research Analysts, assists with the gathering of data and analyses of UCEAP programs, program development including ongoing student evaluations and surveys of the UC Education Abroad Programs using a variety of data resources and analysis tools. Generates reports relating to UCEAP applicant, participant, program, finance, alumni, and other academic related data. Maintains the research website pages where reports are hosted and available to UC stakeholders and other audiences (students, public, and staff). Maintains published reports for these stakeholders using Caspio, a cloud based database tool that encourages self-reporting of summary statistics, Tableau, and Qualtrics. The Research Coordinator also is often charged with composing first drafts of frequent reports (e.g., weekly enrollment and application reports), assists in project plan designs and project reports and collaborates with project groups, committees and marketing and communications.

Assists the Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director with all phases of preparing and submitting grant applications, including research and data gathering, proposal-writing support, grant application processes, monitoring compliance with University policies, tracking grant disposition, and maintaining required records.

Minimum Requirements
BA in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years of recent experience in an applied research/data management environment, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience using statistical analysis packages such as IBM/SPSS, Tableau, Caspio, Qualtrics and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with SQL or other databases for data extraction, transformation, and loading. Knowledge of and experience with mixed-methods research (both qualitative and quantitative). Effective communication skills: interpersonal, oral presentations, written reports and proficiency in producing technical reports.
Competency in producing Data Visualizations & Data-pages using applications such as Tableau, Caspio, etc. Demonstrated, excellent interpersonal and writing skills for collegial and professional exchanges with diverse audiences including students, parents of students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Ability to apply creativity, resourcefulness, technical skills, attention to detail and statistical knowledge to data to provide information to leadership for data-driven decisions related to student success. Excellent writing skills. Accuracy and attention to detail.
Proven ability to work independently to prioritize and carry out assigned tasks reliably with only general direction and work collaboratively as a team member. Ability to manage a portfolio of multiple and varying projects, while meeting critical deadlines. Ability to learn Caspio, Tableau, Qualtrics, and other relevant applications with training and support.

Desirable Requirements
Ability to conduct ad hoc research projects from start to finish, including design, execution, and communication, including data visualizations and report writing. Experience coordinating the collection of data, preparing, and writing grants proposals. Knowledge of granting agency guidelines and institutional policies in order to prepare and submit approved proposals in a timely manner. MA/MS degree (preferably in social sciences, education, economics, statistics).
Proficiency with Caspio (cloud based database tool), Tableau, and Qualtrics.
