Main Objective:

The Product Management Specialist is a member of the Product Management Team and is responsible for activities related to product development, product management and marketing. They will interact with surgeon customers, corporate personnel and the sales force and assists in marketing and sales management and execution of product lines, including pricing, promotion, new product support, distribution, budgeting, sales support, and special projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Give product presentations at the New Sales Rep Training held in Naples. 

  • Give PowerPoint presentations to other personnel at the distributor level.

  • Support projects which are part of the larger product groups. This could include new products, OEM products, or line extensions. These project responsibilities would include interfacing with engineering on product design, R&D tetsing, cadaver lab testing, creating product sales bulletins and PowerPoint slides, and creating all marketing materials including the product brochure along with any surgical techniques needed.

  • Initiate new product evaluations with subsequent follow up to be used in the engineering Design History File to ensure the product is working as designed and intended.

  • Field technical phone calls from surgeons, corporate personnel and sales representatives and their distributors on all technical aspects of the product including preferred surgical technique and solutions for complex issues in the operating room.

  • Create new product promotions based upon return on investment decisions and maintain these lists to support other department requests. 

  • Give new product update presentations to the customer service department.

  • Coordinate lab visits for our consultant surgeons and others who request visits and lab time.

  • Maintain product development records and histories as necessary.

  • Monitor stock levels of product literature to ensure no runouts and Maintain updates to our product brochures and other marketing materials.

  • Coordinate and help create the quarterly product updates.

  • Process, organize and maintain a hard copy and digital files for information from and correspondence with surgeons and others who request or submit confidential non disclosure agreements.

  • Utilize SAP to place orders in the system for special projects.

  • Develop new product pictures and descriptions for the marketing depart to use in the Scope This Out and other marketing publications.

  • Create and submit purchase requisitions (SAP) and check requests (Capri)

  • Coordinate single day consulting agreements for consultants (create agreement, necessary forms, check request in Carpri)

  • Run IMS reports for Product management

  • Be proficient with MRM/DAM, Pardot (Marketing), SAP, and Capri

  • Create and upate assets in all product Livebinders on

  • Submit weekly asset information to appear on weekly eBulletin

  • Schedule, obtain information, and keep notes for monthly recurring meetings (weekly staff, New Product concept, and Meded meetings.

  • Consultants –

    • Maintain master list of contracts and products

    • Ensure and complete mailing of product release letters

  • Coordinate the creation and maintaining of DS Kits with Product managers (includes updating of exhibit catalog)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Previous experience working with product teams required

  • Formal training and experience as an administrative assistant required


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/ Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, be a “self-starter” with a customer service attitude and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Rare instances for weekend work responsibilities (for training labs, etc.).

Proficient with PC and MS Office and flat bed scanner.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC, fax machine, laser printer, scanner, copier, telephone.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 


Language Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures. Ability to read and write in English at a college grad level.
