Position Description Overview

As an IBM DataPower engineer you will play a multi-faceted role, which will provide analysis, design and administration of functional and technical enhancements for a variety of new and existing systems at First Data. Ensures adherence to established technology standards and consults with senior leadership on technology solutions. Supports existing systems and is responsible for leading technical aspects of a project. Performs additional job duties as required.


Job Responsibilities


  • Installation, Configuration and administration of physical and virtual IBM DataPower SOA appliances. 

  • Development and support of security and mediation solutions using IBM DataPower. 

  • Strong understanding and experience in installing and managing SSL/Mutual Auth certs. 

  • Developing, securing and publishing APIs using IBM API Connect. 

  • Design, develop and support integration and orchestration solutions using IBM BPM tools.  

  • Work with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics and ITCAM for supporting the SOA Infrastructure. 

  • Create custom dashboards and alerts in Splunk and AppDynamics.

Job Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in architecture, design and development of integration solutions based on BPEL, ESB, MQ, JMS and Web services (REST and SOAP) technologies. 

  • Strong knowledge and comprehension of web services standards, and specifications (e.g., XML, XSLT, XPATH, UDDI, JMS, SOAP, REST etc.) 

  • Experience in building security and mediation solutions using IBM DataPower SOA Appliances  

  • Experience in developing, securing and publishing APIs using API Management platforms such as IBM API Connect, and Apigee. 

  • Experience developing integration and business process management (BPM) solutions using IBM WebSphere Process Server/Enterprise Service Bus is preferred 

  • Strong knowledge in emerging SOA and JEE-oriented technologies. 

  • Experience with open source application servers, ESB, BPEL, JEE and WS* technologies a plus  

  • Experience with IBM WODM is preferred 

  • Strong UNIX Background in order to work in the Linux, Solaris, AIX environments we support. 

  • Possesses strong knowledge of application development technologies, tools, methodologies as well as all functional areas in IT organization. 

  • Good understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies such knowledge to support the needs of the business.
