As an Account Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day account leadership for high-growth technology companies, changing the way that we work and live. This candidate will be counted on to drive new business, interface with firm leadership, and provide a diverse client base with expert counsel in media relations, story and thought leadership. You also aspire to lead, to grow business, and to set culture through your actions and viewpoints.
We are looking for an AS level team member who has strengths in client/project management, earned media strategy (with an emphasis on storytelling) and driving activations from concept to completion. Additional responsibilities include:
Serve as day-to-day client contact and support the senior lead with account strategy and execution
Serve as day-to-day team lead, helping to manage work quality and deadline adherence
Drive ongoing earned media programming, from creative ideation and storymining; to content development; to execution
Oversee junior staff’s work products to ensure quality and consistency. Set achievable goals and tasks, delegate opportunities and provide resources for staff to meet their goals; consistently measure and reward goal achievement
Contribute to the performance appraisal process for peers, managers and direct reports
Assist in recruitment process by interviewing and helping select Edelman personnel
Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Manage down, across and up by working closely with staff and peers and by ensuring senior team members meet approval deadlines and stay on track with deliverables
Live “in color” – and encourage staff to do so – by exploring and being active in the world outside of work, including the arts, culture, politics, literature, charitable organizations and/or other personal passions
At least five years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, media and publishing.
Experience preferred managing multiple accounts (including financials) while simultaneously serving as the day-to-day client contact.
