As an Account Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day account leadership for high-growth technology companies, changing the way that we work and live. This candidate will be counted on to drive new business, interface with firm leadership, and provide a diverse client base with expert counsel in media relations, story and thought leadership. You also aspire to lead, to grow business, and to set culture through your actions and viewpoints.



RESPONSIBILITIES: 


We are looking for an AS level team member who has strengths in client/project management, earned media strategy (with an emphasis on storytelling) and driving activations from concept to completion. Additional responsibilities include: 



Client Service: 





  • Serve as day-to-day client contact and support the senior lead with account strategy and execution





  • Serve as day-to-day team lead, helping to manage work quality and deadline adherence





  • Drive ongoing earned media programming, from creative ideation and storymining; to content development; to execution 



People Engagement: 





  • Oversee junior staff’s work products to ensure quality and consistency. Set achievable goals and tasks, delegate opportunities and provide resources for staff to meet their goals; consistently measure and reward goal achievement 





  • Contribute to the performance appraisal process for peers, managers and direct reports 





  • Assist in recruitment process by interviewing and helping select Edelman personnel

  • Manage down, across and up by working closely with staff and peers and by ensuring senior team members meet approval deadlines and stay on track with deliverables

QUALIFICATIONS: 






  • At least five years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, media and publishing.





  • Experience preferred managing multiple accounts (including financials) while simultaneously serving as the day-to-day client contact.





  • They should have




    • The ability to distill complex concept into simple, compelling terms and to find the human element at the heart of technology stories.

    • A bachelor’s degree in a related field and a proven ability to manage large projects as well as small teams on one or more sizable accounts. 

    • Strong tech (esp. B2B tech) media relationships, both nationally and in the Bay Area.

    • The ability to act as a daily client contact and to be responsible for client-related finance management, including managing large projects within budget.

    • Demonstrated ability to delegate tactical assignments and accurately judge and edit the work of others at or below his/her level. 

    • Familiarity with best practice communications tactics and public relations tools and will be able to recommend them to his/her clients.
