Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Quality Control Inspector will ensure product and processes are compliant with applicable standards, regulations, and customer expectations. The Quality Control Inspector will provide support to production and contribute to continuous improvement ideas to support the enhancement of product quality and quality systems.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Inspecting and releasing of in-process and final product by established test methods

  • Calibrating and working with delicate instruments

  • Documenting and communicating inspection results

  • Auditing quality documents per standard requirements

This position will require:


  • Working a fixed 2nd shift (4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.)

  • Working overtime as needed

This position may require:


  • Weekend work

  • Working on holidays as needed

  • Short notice shift coverage

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, SPC, or product inspection

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Strong computer skills

  • Lean Six Sigma training and experience
