The Network Engineer is responsible for the overall design and physical construction of La Salle University networks. Responsibilities include all computer communication and telecommunication services including the configuration, placement and troubleshooting of all physical equipment such as routers, communication switches, cables and wires used to connect equipment in addition to all wireless and radio frequency systems. The Network Engineer works closely with the Technology Infrastructure area, and collaborates on a daily basis with other IT members, departments, and vendors.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 5 years experience within the field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.- Proven track record successfully managing projects, solving problems, and planning strategically.- 5+ years' experience directly managing computer networks.- 3+ years' experience directly working with network architecture and deployment. - Experience implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices such as wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.- Demonstrated experience successfully communicating with internal and external constituents and working both independently and collaboratively within a team. - Demonstrated previous experience working with LAN, proxy servers, and networking (including design and implementation, infrastructure, troubleshooting, hardware configuration, and performance tuning). - Previous experience with estimating project costs, determining and following timelines, and tracking budget expenses.- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
