FSLA STATUS: Non exempt

PAY LEVEL: Hourly

LOCATION: Grand Lake Casino

EDUCATION: High school diploma or G.E.D.

EXPERIENCE: Customer service experience preferred; 1-2 years bar exp preferred; cash handling required.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license; State issued id, State required liquor license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires: the ability to carry heavy trays of food, dishes and glassware; good balance; ability to stand or walk for entire shifts

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust and noise and bright flashing lights.

JOB SUMMARY: Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests, observe responsible serving practices.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires good memory and focus; ability to work under pressure and to serve customers quickly and efficiently

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Takes beverage orders from guests and servers

  • Prepares and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the bars standard drink recipes

  • Recognizes when a customer has had enough to drink

  • Learns the names and personally recognizes regulars

  • Accepts payment from guests, bar servers and cocktail staff; processes credit cards

  • Washes and sterilizes glassware

  • Prepares garnishes for drinks and replenishes snacks for bar patrons

  • Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner

  • Makes recommendations and answers questions regarding beverages

  • Maintains cleanliness in all areas of the bar

  • Receives and serves food orders to guests seated at the bar and tables located at the bar

  • Reports all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Department manager

  • Assists the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies

  • Fills in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department by assisting co-workers, supervisor or manager as requested

  • Maintains working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Reliable transportation

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Multitasking skills

  • Adaptability
