Job Description:

Job Summary: 

Manages the day to day QC operation and scope of the embedded site.  This position ensures the QC function exceeds customer expectations through training, development, and execution of QC responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations while completing responsibilities consistent with the J.A. King & Company mission, compass, and value system.  

  • Ensure procedures and work assignments are performed in keeping with customer and J.A. King & Co policy, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Maintain a safety and customer service mindset at all times

  • Manage the QC calibrations and maintenance activities to ensure execution to schedule

  • Ensure compliance of QC operations to the One Quality System to meet ISO 17025 requirements

  • Prepare monthly QC reports as required

  • Evaluate current QC and machine instrumentation evaluation processes to streamline work load, efficiencies, and reporting

  • Document and analyze equipment trends and processes to problem solve and implement continuous improvements

  • Ensure QC activities and machine instrumentation evaluation meet schedule requirements and are documented correctly and promptly in J.A. King & Co and customer software as required 

  • Ensure non-conformances are completed and reported to the customer promptly

  • Ensure all customer and employee items are addressed and the loop is closed through prompt, professional communication

  • Assure that analytical equipment is in good working order

  • Support Service Manager to ensure QC issues are effectively communicated and addressed by QA Instrumentation personnel 

  • Prepare work instructions and communicate with the Corporate Quality Manager to ensure they are posted correctly meeting the requirements of One Quality System

  • Support J.A. King & Co and customer Quality Audits to include correcting deviations found

  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment is maintained

  • Ensure all QC Technicians meet or exceed all customer site contractor requirements, including random drug screening, safety practices, GMP practices,  ethical conduct, and any other appropriate requirements

  • Responsible for managing and directing all QC employee training to include on boarding new employees and staff development 

  • Support the Service Manager in maintaining training records, safety records/postings, and employee records

  • Perform employee performance reviews

  • Understand and be seen as a leader in all J.A. King & Co policies and business practices

  • Serve as a back-up for the Service Manager

  • May perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Two year degree or equivalent experience

  • High speed manufacturing experience preferred

  • Electrical, Mechanical, or QC/QA background preferred 

  • Strong analytical and statistical analysis preferred 

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills

  • Must be able to coach, mentor, train, and lead employees

  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service and build customer relationships

  • Must demonstrate self motivation, initiative, honesty, integrity, and attention to detail

  • Must identify best practices and bring innovation to the work environment

  • Must be able to learn basic electrical and mechanical concepts

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support the business.  This may include working holidays and weekends as necessary 

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds

  • Must be 21 years of age


 Physical Demands of the Position:


  • Stands greater than four hours at a time

  • May require walking 2 – 4 miles during an 8 hour period

  • Stoops and bends below knee level 2 – 4 times an hour

  • Lifts and carries less than 50 pounds but greater than 25 pounds repetitively

  • Climbs stairs more than four times in an eight hour shift

  • Pushes / pulls objects greater than 25 pounds

  • Reaches out

  • Reaches overhead

  • Repetitively uses feet

  • Repetitively uses hands (computer keyboard)

  • Grips with hands
