Assembly Media Inc., a subsidiary of Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a public relations (PR) intern to join the Xbox International team in the Seattle office. This person will be an integral part of the team, driving global integration of PR programs for Microsoft across the gaming brand?s 42 international markets.

The Intern will be responsible for supporting international PR campaign coordination for teams in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Canada under direction of the supervisor. Efforts may include planning and execution of press engagements, new hardware and games announcements and gaming activations and events. They will work closely with and support the needs of the Xbox International account team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Identifying relevant news relating to Xbox and/or competitors and assessing its business impact based on media reaction

  • Assisting with media coverage reports by writing summaries and analysis and pulling coverage links and key quotes

  • Assisting with monitoring client competitive coverage

  • Assisting with drafting project trackers and timelines to support international PR campaign coordination

  • Assisting with client meeting agendas and recaps 

  • Drafting and updating tailored media lists for various news announcements

  • Drafting brand messaging with the approval of the supervisor

  • Conducting and compiling research

  • Participating in storytelling brainstorms

  • B.A. in English, Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred

  • Intern candidates must have a basic understanding of the principals of PR and possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others

  • Familiarity with the Public Relations discipline through past coursework or other internships and enthusiasm for the gaming and/or technology industries are desirable. 

  • Must have solid knowledge of MS Office Suite

  • Familiarity with AP style and solid writing skills are a must 

  • Basic understanding of how to use social media 

  • Basic understanding of key client information, including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors in the marketplace preferred

  • Basic understanding of research and media list building tools (e.g. Cision)  

  • Gaming experience always appreciated but not required

About our internship program:

  • We have 8-12 interns in the Seattle office at any given time 

  • The duration of the internship is a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months

  • Interns work a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) and are paid $17 per hour, plus overtime when approved by management

  • Interns are post-graduates and are eligible to apply for permanent junior-level positions (AAE) that open up any time during their internship
