Job Description:

Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Roadway Engineer/Project Manager to join our Transportation group in Savannah. Qualified candidates will have experience that includes: planning, design, and preparation of construction drawings and contract documents for all types of surface transportation facilities. They will have served as project engineer or manager on roadway projects ranging from rural highways to urban freeways and limited access roadways. Qualified candidates will also be thoroughly familiar with the American Association of State Highway and Traffic Officials guidelines and the Georgia Department of Transportation requirements for highway design. We are looking for an individual with strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to assist with the leading of projects and teams. This individual must be energetic, self-directed, and success-focused.

Duties and responsibilities:

* Manager engineering projects from concept through completion including: design, planning, computations, quality assurance, and project management

* Ability to plan, schedule work, and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines

* Knowledge of GDOT, municipal design standards and criteria, and practices and policies

* Write clear, concise, and accurate technical and non-technical reports, correspondence, memorandums, and specifications

* Prepare accurate cost estimates, invoices, and proposals

* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Microsoft Word and Excel

* Occasional travel to other offices and provide project support as needed

* Ability to perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection

* Attend client meetings

* Occasional work requirements beyond normal working hours for deadline completion or to accommodate field conditions

Qualifications:

* Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

* 4 to 10 years of related experience in highway / roadway engineering design

* Professional Engineer registration in the State of Georgia or the ability to gain license within 6 months
