Job Description


Job Summary:

Individual will work with multidisciplined R&D engineering team providing epitaxial film growth expertise to a variety of novel detector development projects. The selected individual will interact frequently with outside vendors, device physicists, and process engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle. The semiconductor growth engineer will evaluate and ultimately improve material characteristics to enhance device performance and yield of III-V based semiconductors. Candidate will oversee the development and maintenance of epitaxial growth specifications for production detector products as well as emerging programs. 

Detailed Description:

  • Develop epitaxial wafer specifications in cooperation with growth vendors

  • Evaluate EPI growth characteristics, defects, and other aspects of material for effects on device performance

  • Evaluate EPI vendor growth approaches/methods for compatible with required EPI designs and performance


  • Masters of Science in Materials, Ph.D. Preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in epitaxial growth of semiconducting crystals

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in processing of semiconducting devices

  • Knowledge of infrared device test metrics a plus

  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce

  • 0 to 10 % travel may be required

  • Able to perform work in cleanroom attire and follow clean room protocol required
