Cambridge Viscosity operates a subsidiary of PAC - a leading global provider of advanced analytical instruments for laboratories and online process applications in industries such as refinery, petrochemical, biofuels, environmental, food & beverage, marine, offshore, subsea, and pharmaceutical.

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for selling Cambridge Viscosity's instruments by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects within a specified sales territory. This position is characterized by a sustained record of sales achievement and a complete knowledge of the organization’s policies, products, and/or services. May require specialized training within product or service lines.


  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

  • Prepares sales forecast for specified sales territory.

  • Travels through assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.

  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

  • Meets established quotas for territory sales representatives.

  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained with help of Sales Support Representatives.

  • Follows-up with customers following order placement to ensure things are progressing and satisfaction is achieved.

  • Prepares reports of all business transactions.

  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.

  • Maintains positive customer relations.

  • Attends trade shows.

  • Follows all company and customer safety policies and procedures.

  • Responds to change productively and handles other duties as required.



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related field

  • 6 or more years experience working with analytical equipment sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proficiency in IFS or other Oracle based ERP preferred

  • Experience with CRM is preferred

  • Travel: Significant domestic and international travel required ( over 50%)

  • Location: Cambridge Viscosity, and this position, are based in Boston, MA.
