Operating under HCA's Physician Services Group (PSG), Ambulatory EHR supports approximately 800 practices and 3,600 providers in seven regions throughout the nation. The teams work together to implement, optimize and provide continuous support to providers using the HCA-hosted version of the eClinicalWorks Electronic Health Record and other non-standard EHR systems.

The APPLICATION MANAGER position is responsible for leading the successful creation and implementation of a standardized content for enterprise Ambulatory EHR. This position will guide the non-clinical team through the creation and facilitation of content management process, the facilitation of content development, and the ongoing support of a standard content model. Content will include templates, order sets, lab build, diagnostic imaging and any support for content or bolt on products utilized in the application. The position requires solid knowledge of clinic flow, throughput, physician needs, staff needs, and the ability to facilitate and communicate discussions built around all EHR's for standardization across applications.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Works full time to support the EHR program with a focus on the Ambulatory EHR's; leads development and implements a broad range of standard content for outpatient clinicians, ensuring and supporting a consistent focus on physicians and their specialty

Able to lead development/facilitate the content design and ongoing maintenance process
*

Establish and maintain effective relationships with clinical professionals and other stakeholders across the enterprise by recruiting clinicians' leadership, input, and buy-in for the content design and maintenance process
*

Facilitates effective communication among all team members to ensure comprehensive understanding of needs, expectations, and requirements
*

Collaborate with Director and subordinates on the design, development and maintenance of quality content, reporting and workflow solutions for ambulatory EHR applications to meet compliance and contractual requirements, including payer initiatives, HCA initiatives, and corporate/division/facility requirements
*

Collaborate with ITG, PSG, and other stakeholders to help define the use and integration of HCA's standard content into clinical applications, including documentation of master file build, change management, and training materials
*

Responsible for hiring, managing, mentoring, and developing Application Managers and Clinical Application Analyst(s) focused on providing high-quality clinical analysis and support to all PSG internal customers and PSG users
*

Able to identify risks and opportunities regarding the design, implementation, and future use of standard content across the enterprise
*

Establish and maintain effective relationships with clinical champions and other stakeholders across the enterprise by working with Director and division EHR teams to recruit clinicians' leadership, input, and buy-in for the content, quality, and workflow design and maintenance process
*

Lead Collaboration on the development of best practices and guiding principles for content development, use, and maintenance within a common EHR framework
*

Lead efforts defining reports for disease management and clinical outcomes
*

Manage, assist, and support EHR managers, team leads, and members in the implementation of the specialty content, including onsite support and providing documentation for preparation, status and issues to various parts of the organization including senior management, CSG, PSG, division and facility executives/leadership as requested
*

Spearhead patient safety, medication safety and risk reduction projects
*

Serve as an Enterprise level application expert for the clinical components of the EHR, mentor and develop junior staff to become independent subject matter experts
*

Define recommendations for the effectiveness of training strategies and materials and recommends changes
*

Defines project success criteria and defines collected, analyzed and reported metrics
*

Supervises the team member's development of optimization tools
*

Work on other activities, as necessary, to support the Ambulatory EHR team
*

Ensure process area adherence to clinical standards of practice across the HCA ambulatory facilities

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

*

Master's Degree is preferred

EXPERIENCE

*

At least 3 - 5 years experience preferably in ambulatory care
*

1 - 2 years experience with large EHR systems, prefer HCA experience
*

RN, PharmD, or other clinical degree preferred with experience in multi-specialty areas
*

3 or more years clinical experience with supervisory and managerial responsibilities preferred
*

Experience in training providers and their staff
*

Experience in the project management and implementation of Ambulatory EHR system(s) preferred
*

Must demonstrate expert level knowledge of EHR systems, which include but are not limited to…
