Description

The Mechanical Engineer will perform routine and specific work that is normally part of a broader engineering project; provide equipment designs, component selections and performance information for potential sales; and guide equipment orders through the pre-sale process through production release.  He/she will be responsible for applications of established techniques in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. This position also may act as a liaison in a remote facility to provide mechanical engineering and communications.


 
Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical planning and project management for assigned projects.

  • Interpret customer specifications and schedules to define requirements for equipment design and performance.

  • Analyze equipment configurations needed to fulfill customer’s requirements and provide the costing estimates for required special features and components.  

  • Create submittal documentation that describes equipment features and capabilities for approval by customer and for use by detailed design engineering.

  • Collect, analyze and interpret performance and cost data and as training and tools become available, provide energy analysis and other total cost of ownership metrics for projects that require it. 

  • Review final equipment proposals for technical validity, overall solution design, and validation of equipment configurations with the customer and company representative.

  • Follow recognized agency standards for design and testing practices.

  • Initiate lab test requests, guide technicians, evaluate, and document test results.  Assist with definition and implementation of customer witness testing, when required. 

  • Work with local and remote plants to implement designs into production.

Requirements


  • BS Degree in Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

  • 2+ years of experience design and engineering for HVAC products

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.

  • Some knowledge of psychrometrics, fan technologies, direct expansion, chilled water, and evaporative cooling technologies. 

  • Autodesk AutoCAD 2d skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, EXCEL, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization including solid presentation skills and experience. 

  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be action-oriented to complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate integrity and ethics. 

  • Must have the ability to analyze data and problem solve.
