What will I be doing?

The Marketing Program Manager in the F5 NGINX Business Unit will be a critical owner of the marketing team’s strategy, execution, planning, and budgeting processes. You will be instrumental in bridging NGINX Marketing with the broader F5 Marketing and senior leadership teams. You’ll also be involved in all parts of the NGINX marketing operations, including strategy and planning for annual budgets, quarterly business reviews, monthly critical metric reports, and weekly metrics collection. You will also: 

  • Manage the annual strategy and planning process, including collaborating across product, finance, marketing, sales, and executive teams

  • Manage the annual budgeting process by translating the strategy and marketing plans into an annual budget, and working with finance to track quarterly progress

  • Manage the annual “waterfall” model by working with product and sales to build a demand generation model that determines the leads, meetings, and pipeline needed for NGINX marketing

  • Liaise with central marketing resources. Handoff NGINX content to shared services like digital marketing, campaign management, and marketing operations

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date BU marketing plan. Work with product, campaign, and demand generation teams to create and update marketing plans

  • Participate in cross-functional processes. Help ensure NGINX marketing is collaborating with other business units and global marketing functions. 

  • Help organize team meetings and offsite events. Work closely with leadership to communicate to and meet regularly with the NGINX extended marketing team

  • The is a dynamic position that requires frequent multi-tasking among business, strategy, operations, and planning activities

What knowledge, skills, and abilities do I need?

  • A deep sense of ownership and responsibility about everything that you work on. You are comfortable running a process end-to-end with a high degree of autonomy

  • Proven program and project management skills, as well as experience running cross-functional efforts

  • Strong team orientation with the ability to listen, organize, and champion key initiatives and projects for marketing

  • Flexible, self-motivated, a standout teammate, and able to work independently and lead others on projects

  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated history of clean, concise written and verbal updates

  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time to be present in both San Francisco and Seattle offices

What qualification are necessary?

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, marketing, communications is preferred; or equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years of program or project management experience, preferably in marketing and/or communications domains

Related experience could include some of:

  • Sales or account management experience 

  • Developer or DevOps marketing experience 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 tools and project management software
