Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Sales and Catering Manager to join our team!

Facilitate sales and planning with corporate, civic and social clients from meetings to galas to ensure customer satisfaction and optimized revenue for the Resort. Responsibilities include sales, plus coordinating, planning, and communicating all details for group functions to appropriate resort departments, on-site management of events, and billing and follow-up post-event.

Meet with/contact individual corporate clients by telephone to solicit annual, week day and weekend business.

Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, and promote facilities and services. Answers client inquiries.

Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.

Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events.

Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.

Prepare and present weekly and monthly Catering/Sales reports

Minimum of 2 years hotel sales/catering experience preferred.

Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry. Marriott systems experience preferred.

Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative Sales Professional who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.

Command of the English language both written and verbal, with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others.

Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.

Requires knowledge of advanced sales techniques.

Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail.

Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft applications and hotel function/banquet system software programs.

The ability to delegate, effectively train and coach

Must be available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.

Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards. Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction. Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy. Presents a professional appearance and manner at all times.
