Arcosa Shoring Products is seeking an experienced Fitter/Welder in our Union City, MI plant. As a Fitter/Welder, you'll lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches in preparation for welding. You'll also tack-weld pieces together. The Fitter/Welder applies appropriate welding processes consistent with GMAW/AWS certification requirements to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of steel or aluminum according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using mig welding equipment.

Schedule: Monday - Friday: 6:00 am - 3:30 pm

What you'll do:


  • Fit and weld subassemblies into final product

  • Perform flat and horizontal groove welds

  • Accurately measure within specified tolerances

  • Read blueprints

  • Perform flat and horizontal fillet welds


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of mig welding experience

  • Ideal candidate will hold a AWS Certification

  • Ability to pass two-part weld test

  • Qualified to weld on aluminum or steel

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the use and operation of fillet and groove welding equipment

  • Ability to read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints

  • Capable of reading, understanding, and following weld procedure

  • Ability to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently

  • Ability to follow directions and maintain a professional work environment

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a teamwork environment

  • Regular and predictable attendance
