The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working at a law firm and/or an in-house corporate legal department handling legal issues in one or more of the following areas: hospitality, contracts, real estate, corporate governance, group sales, liquor licensing and mergers & acquisitions.
Assist in-house and outside counsel with the review and drafting of a wide variety of contracts including vendor, purchase & sale, hotel management, operating, franchise, construction, vendor, loan and lease agreements.
Accurately summarize certain agreements and provide database management of the same.
Engage with internal business partners to facilitate review of hotel-level agreements.
Help with process development and improvement to facilitate legal department efficiencies as the company grows.
Work with outside counsel to obtain and maintain liquor licenses at more than 120 properties.
Assist with the formation and maintenance of corporate entities, including the corporate records and filings along with corporate secretarial functions, including coordination of meeting calendars and agendas, preparation of meeting materials, recordkeeping associated with board and committee meetings.
Support the general counsel in efforts to provide training to employees.
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of the same.
Assist corporate finance and accounting departments as needed.
Paralegal Certification from an ABA approved program or other appropriate paralegal training or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a corporate in-house and/or law firm environment.
Experience with responsibilities described above.
Hotel industry experience preferred.
College Degree is preferred.
