Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Supervisor for our Lumber manufacturing site in Albany, Georgia.  This state of the art facility produces dimensional lumber from southern yellow pine.


 

The Electrical Leader will supervise a staff in installation, maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment: programmable logic controllers, HMI Systems, generators, motors, transformers, control panels, cables, power distribution systems and associated switchgear in the plant. The job duties of an Electrical Supervisor entail technical, interpersonal and administrative responsibilities. They are responsible for coordinating and scheduling their team, as well as ensuring quality work. In some cases, they may have a role in hiring and termination decisions. They will have hands-on duties such as troubleshooting and repair when needed. Administrative duties such as inventory are part of the job. Demonstrated communication, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills required to achieve results that support/enhance our MBM® Guiding Principles as well as fostering and environment that creates superior value.

Weekend work will be required.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

In addition to the responsibilities above, other common duties include:


  • Responsible for helping those around you improve and succeed through MBM® Philosophy and Guiding Principles.

  • Work with the facility operations group to increase reliability while improving plant performance.

  • Assure safe workplace practices are followed at all times and drive safety awareness through leading by example.

  • Improve and lead the electrical organization which would include but not be limited of predictive, preventive and proactive electrical maintenance analysis as well as designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement processes through decision making, employee involvement, systems and training.

  • General administrative work, such as daily reconciliation of employee time and attendance

What You Will Need:



Basic Qualifications:


  • Five (5) or more years of electrical experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment.

  • Project Management experience required

  • Minimum of two (2) years automation programming experience with PLC and/or SCADA systems.


  • Demonstrated experience working and programming HMI interfaces such as FactoryTalk View, iFix, Ignition, or similar. 

  • Must have experience working with MS Word and Excel, and other PC-based production applications

  • Must be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas.

  • Must be able and willing to work safely, and promote safe work practices.

  • Must have experience with electrical reliability, predictive and preventive maintenance, and Root Cause Failure Analysis

  • Must have experience in programming and troubleshooting PLCs.

  • Must have experience in employee performance management and change management.

What Will Put You Ahead?



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment

  • Experience working in AutoCAD 

  • Allen Bradley PLC 5000 experience

  • Experience programming Rockwell RSLogix/Factory Talk

  • Kinetics 5700 motion controller experience

  • OM-15 Electrical Guidelines

  • Working with PIDs, Instrumentation Diagrams or other Distributed Control Systems

  • Work experience in a Lumber production facility

Physical Qualifications:

 


  • Walking, climbing, stooping.
