JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE
Under the leadership of the Director, Operations Finance, the primary responsibility is to forge strong business partnerships and provide cost/inventory analysis and decision support to the Supply Chain Leaders (Procurement/Inventory) of the Performance Alloys and Composites Segment (PAC). Support the Director, Operations Finance in developing a world-class Operations Finance Team by developing PAC KPIs, reporting, and analysis tools and sharing best practices across business units. Initial focus will be on standardizing reporting and KPIs to facilitate analysis and automate tracking and reporting of cost savings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost Analysis support to PAC:
Develop standardized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor manufacturing performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Standardize and automate robust manufacturing cost center reporting across PAC and Materion.
Develop and automate standardized tools and reports to measure and track manufacturing and procurement cost savings to ensure projects are delivering a positive Operating Profit impact.
Support Procurement organization in identifying, analyzing, validating, and monitoring procurement savings.
Perform cost analysis across all PAC Business Units and proactively seek out opportunities to reduce costs.
Perform trend analysis and forecast raw material inflation/deflation.
Develop flexible analysis tools and pro-forma templates to increase speed and accuracy of cost analysis and financial modeling.
Working Capital / Invested Capital support to PAC:
Partner with Supply Chain to drive inventory reductions to improve Working Capital.
Drive discipline in the capital spending / forecasting process to maximize ROIC; ensure Requests For Investment (RFIs) have proper financial justification.
Analyze and identify opportunities to extend supplier payment terms.
Improve and automate standardized inventory reporting across PAC.
Prepare quarterly reporting for Materion Corporate requirements.
Assist Director, Operations Finance in coordinating the monthly forecast, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and strategic plan.
Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis and Accounting Teams on projects.
Actively seek to improve and automate systems and processes that support cost, inventory, and financial analysis and reporting.
Support efforts to enhance, upgrade, and standardize SAP systems across PAC Business Units to better support cost accounting and variance analysis.
Serve as the PAC Operations Finance Liaison in the Business Intelligence (BI) system implementation as it relates to Cost and Inventory data cubes.
Ad-hoc projects and analysis / other duties as assigned.
Minimal travel (less than 5% annually).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance .
3+ years of cost accounting/analysis experience in a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of product costing.
Experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
Must have working knowledge of Business Intelligence systems, relational databases and front-end querying tools. BI Implementation and/or SAP BW experience a plus.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Possess the highest level of integrity and ethics.

Must abide by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and must be able to obtain security clearance, if necessary, to perform job functions.
