We are seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in the natural sciences and skills in GIS to join our team. The candidate will work with and assist project managers, staff scientists, and senior scientists with development and delivery of field maps, report figures, GIS analysis results, and data deliverables for projects involving utility, private, municipal, state and Federal clients. Additionally, the candidate will have experience with researching and writing technical documents reporting the results of environmental studies including both field work and desktop assessment results.
Your Key Responsibilities
Creating figures and maps depicting environmental assessment results using Esri software including ArcMap and ArcPro.
Conducting desktop habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species using ArcToolbox, Spatial Analyst, etc.
Supporting field wetland delineations, bird surveys, habitat mapping, and bat surveys by preparing field maps, GPS setup, processing field data, and providing deliverables.
Assisting with the preparation, review, and editing of technical documents, such as wetland and waterbody delineation reports, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments, environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, and other technical reports.
Completing office tasks such as data management, analysis and interpretation; report preparation, preparation of environmental approval applications and other general tasks.
Writing technical reports for client and regulatory agency review.
May assist in providing input to proposals or pursuits of various sizes and complexity.
Performs independent GIS analyses to form conclusions that are reviewed by senior professionals.
Completing Health and Safety and QA/QC protocols.
Interacting and communicating effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, regulators, and clients.
Participating in team and independent based work.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
An interest in GIS, ecosystems, and natural resource conservation is essential.
The ability to solve problems using critical thinking and practical problem solving, complete with consideration to their own and the team's safety, and a good sense of teamwork is important.
An ability to work independently and to maintain a friendly and positive attitude in collaborative work is key.
The ideal candidate must be able to communicate the abilities and limitations of GIS to those without GIS experience effectively and to work towards a final product that meets client needs.

Ability to develop and follow a logical and organize task flow for analyses.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional MS Office skills.

Working knowledge of GIS natural resources analysis techniques.

The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set in GIS and multiple environmental disciplines and a passion for lifelong learning.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Knowledge of Esri software including ArcMap and ArcPro.
Demonstrated academic and professional experience with cartography and geography.
Must be comfortable with computers and GPS based survey equipment.
Technical writing skills are necessary for this position.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or GIS certificate in an environmental (biology, ecology, natural resources, soil science or related field) discipline with demonstrated experience with biological surveys in the region.
Minimum 5 years' work experience working in natural resources and GIS.
Typical office environment includes working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
