Job Description:


This position leads the actuarial forecast function within Cigna International Market Americas region. It is responsible for:

  • Conducting quarterly claim and loss ratio projections as part of financial forecast cycles;

  • Analyzing and communicating monthly results to Chief Finance Officer and Finance Controller;

  • Transforming and enhancing the forecasting methodologies, tools, and processes;

  • Supporting strategic business projects through partnership with a wide range of matrix functions.

This position reports to Americas Chief Actuary and works closely with Finance, Accounting, Reserving, Pricing, and Underwriting.

Detailed Job Duties

  • Ownership of quarterly claim and loss ratio projections by product and business segment which contribute to the overall financial Forecasts and Plan processes;

  • Ownership of monthly claim and loss ratio results analysis dashboards and exhibits for management and legal entity reporting;

  • Communication of monthly results to CFO and Finance Controller and contribute to the Monthly Operating Results (MOR) reports and calls;

  • Continuous improvements to the assumptions, methodologies, and tools/processes adopted in the forecast framework;

  • Provide financial/actuarial support to a variety of strategic projects through partnership with matrix functions and lead Actuarial team’s efforts in managing major business changes.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Administration or related fields

  • Position requires 4+ years of work experience with a minimum of 2+ years of Actuarial or Finance related work experience

  • Very skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel

  • Associates of the Society of Actuaries preferred

  • 2+ years of work experience with health products preferred
