SGS is looking for a Softlines/Textiles technical expert for our client (large, global corporation), specifically, looking for an individual who is generally recognized as a subject matter expert within the Apparel, Accessories and Home Textile industry, with an emphasis in Quality Assurance. This position assumes responsibility for dissemination of technical information to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure that Safety and compliance requirements are met for Softline products, (Apparel, Soft Home and Footwear) and support other functions such as Ops, Quality, Surveillance, Safety and Legal.
Work cross-functionally and oversee compliance training and awareness raising programs in retail, operations and sales teams.
Leverage technology to manage compliance processes.
Create and monitor business metrics to track compliance and process effectiveness.
Implement best-in-class processes and systems and drive continual improvement.
Work with global teams to ensure coordinated implementation of policies and procedures.
Manage QA technical projects as needed for subjects such as new technical developments.
Provide technical expertise and training on all regulatory, quality and compliance aspects.
Identify and lead implementation of new Technical Initiatives.
Problem solving and troubleshooting of client complaints and issues.
Support and maintain protocol development.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Required Skills and Competencies:


Knowledge and experience with regulatory compliance within a Softline's manufacturer/retailer environment across a breadth of product types, such as apparel, home textiles and footwear
Bachelor's degree in related field required
5 years of experience working in Softline manufacturing or retail environment in process improvement, project management or operations
Demonstrated project and program management experience
Demonstrated experience creating sustainable processes with mechanisms used to ensure compliance with process
Knowledge of Softline laws and regulations and communicating requirements to non-technical Stakeholders
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work independently and autonomously
Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements
Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core values and dynamic corporate culture
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:
MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Retail, Manufacturing or Equivalent)
Six Sigma
5+ years of experience Safety and Compliance in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment
Experience in Regulatory Affairs
Online/retail experience
Europe, Middle East and Africa experience is a plus
