Position Summary

The eCommerce Business Analyst will be responsible for managing projects for new features, defect fixes and enhancements to company websites. This position will be responsible for gathering business requirements, following through the lifecycle of requests from idea to actionable user stories ready for the developers to build solutions. This position will be the liaison between the business, IT development, QA, and deployment teams all through the execution of the project.

This position is located at our corporate office in Philadelphia, PA.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct business case analysis for requirements involving cost, benefit, risks and impact
  • Participate in scrum meetings, backlog grooming, ticket prioritization, and ensure projects, enhancements, issues, etc. are clearly defined for all user groups
  • Ensure projects and enhancements are documented clearly into a business requirement document (BRD)
  • Independently manage assignments / projects including understanding what is needed, resource coordination, tracking the work items and reporting information
  • Expose any potential risks to all parties involved to ensure the project is successfully completed
  • Work with business users, understand the functionality they need and document as user stories with the right description and acceptance criteria
  • Manage the user stories backlog through grooming, prioritization, assignment and lifecycle management to successfully close
  • Communicate clearly with technical team to convert the business requirements into high level functional design leading to technical design and development
  • Manage various tasks related to fulfilling the user story and track for their completion and acceptance through user demos and testing
  • Work with QA team to contribute to test plan, test cases, traceability matrix and assist in test execution
  • Analyze the reported issues / defects, work with the broader teams to determine impacts, workarounds and add them to the product backlog as necessary for closure
  • Create documentation that all parties can read and utilize (both business and technology) as an outcome of meeting notes, requirements and design sessions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field is required
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in service, retail or e-commerce is required
  • 1+ years of experience with SAP Hybris-based solutions is preferred
  • Must not require sponsorship now or at any time in the future
  • Experience working with business partners and developers at both the functional and technical levels is required
  • Proficiency using Agile project management tools such as JIRA
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to present and follow through with notes and updates
  • Ability to handle multiple work assignments and work effectively under pressure with sense of urgency
