DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for the tactical and program management of the Ambulatory Sprint Epic Optimization Team, in support of Clinical Transformation, and Information Services (IS) initiatives to promote EHR best practices. In collaboration with the Director, Nursing Informatics/Director Clinical Transformation, evaluates project and program performances and provides project and program management delivery best practices. Manages continuous improvement for project management delivery.

This role is responsible to develop the strategic priorities in collaboration with clinical transformation and IS and lead the integration of the necessary infrastructure, tools, processes, and curriculum to support the universal and continuous learning and adoption of the US-San Diego electronic health record (EHR) and collateral clinical systems. This position supports the strategies, policies, practices, and performance of Clinical Transformation initiatives, in collaboration with teams that are matrixed across multiple enterprise and regional information services (IS) functions.

In collaboration with UC-San Diego information services and clinical leaders, define and implement an EHR training and adoption program that supports universal EHR adoption, utilizes the EHR to its fullest across all applications, enhances the current clinical record, improves the provider and clinician experience, and improves the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Collaborates with EHR Optimization leaders to ensure alignment of training assets with optimization releases. Collaborates with EHR (Epic) leadership in the planning and development of training assets that support implementation of new Epic optimization functionality. Collaborates with PMO to ensure training strategy aligned with new Epic implementations for the enterprise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's Degree in related area; or equivalent combination of experience/training.
*

Minimum of five (5+) or more years of relevant experience in Program/Project management, Process Improvement, EMR Optimization.
*

Experience and proven success in managing large technical projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Professional certification.

* Healthcare experience.

* Epic Optimization experience.

* Experience implementing large scale clinical IT solution.

* Project Management certification (PMP, Agile scrummaster, or equivalent).

* Process Improvement certification (Lean Six Sigma or equivalent).

* Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
