Job Summary:

The HRIS Technical Analyst combines and applies knowledge of Human Resources (HR) business processes and HR Information Systems (HRIS) experience using technical tools and understanding of the technical environment to provide production support and maintenance for HR applications.

Key Activities:

  • Provide production support and maintenance for HRIS applications; conduct research and analysis to determine cause of reported issues; provide problem resolution and/or make recommendations to senior staff or management.

  • Participate in enhancements to existing technology and the implementation of new technologies of varying complexity; develop functional requirements according to standard templates; develop project artifacts such as charters and schedules.

  • Maintain documentation for all assigned cases; ensure documentation is thorough and complete; develop user manuals and training materials to describe functionality.

  • Perform duties including testing, data mapping, maintaining security, creating reports and queries, training users, etc.

  • Build knowledge and skills needed to improve work performance.

  • Performs most routine day-to-day assignments under general supervision. May handle some unusual issues independently, but predominately consults with senior staff on such issues. Complex tasks require close guidance from senior staff and work is often checked to determine effectiveness.

  • Applies basic knowledge of HR business processes and/or automated applications to routine assignments, and builds knowledge of technical tools.

  • Demonstrates analytical skill to research data/alternatives and arrive at sound conclusions; uses and expands knowledge of known resources.
    Handles several tasks simultaneously; prioritizes work independently; uses time effectively.

  • Communicates effectively; presents material in a concise and well-organized manner; selects appropriate methods for communication.

  • Takes ownership for assignments and accountability for results; accepts various assignments to expand knowledge; takes responsibility for own development and performance improvement.

  • Identifies customers and understands their needs; considers needs in decisions and actions; responds appropriately to requests from customers.
